Two types of paper cutters can be used in the drying section of the paper machine (before gluing and before coiling) according to the parameters of the paper machine. When the paper locomotive speed exceeds 500m/min, it is recommended to use a paper guiding water knife, especially when entering the paper guiding rope system, a high-quality, dust-free paper guiding strip is needed to achieve maximum reliability of paper guiding. When the speed of the paper machine is below 500m/min, it is recommended to use a disc cutter (but never a fixed cutter, as it can tear and damage the narrow strip of paper and cause paper breakage, leading to paper feeding problems).

Paper Threading Cutter/Water Knife Function Description
In the drying section of the paper machine (before sizing and reeling), two types of paper cutters can be used according to machine parameters. When the machine speed exceeds 500 m/min, it is recommended to use a threading water knife, especially when entering the paper rope system, as a high-quality, dust-free threading strip is required to ensure maximum threading reliability. When the machine speed is below 500 m/min, a disc cutter is recommended (never use a fixed cutter, as it may tear and damage the threading strip, cause web breaks, and lead to threading difficulties).

Driven by a pneumatic motor and equipped with a paper stabilizing plate, it prevents the web from fluttering during cutting. The web is stabilized by the jet principle of compressed air before cutting.

Paper Break Cutter Function Description

The paper break cutter is mainly used as an emergency measure to prevent the paper web from squeezing into cylinders or wrapping around rolls during paper breaks. When the system receives a paper break signal from the DCS (Distributed Control System), the paper break cutter quickly cuts the web; it can also be switched to manual operation. This system is connected to the paper machine's paper break signal.
